Giantess City Hot Bikini Thong by vaelvictus Giantess City Hot Bikini Thong by vaelvictus
This was submitted in 2009 to counter the idea that pageviews matter much at all.

Many up-and-coming artists go unnoticed because viewers are generally looking for high-skill-tier art and just scroll right by. This is mostly acceptable.

Other viewers, however, are looking for things like transgender, giantess, diaper, feet and furry fetishes.

These works of art can be of even abysmal quality, yet will receive many hits because it targets a fetish. I could spend twenty hours designing a sleek user interface, but this deviation (and I use that term loosely) will receive 100x more hits within a month for targeting a fetish. It's not about the amount of hits, it's the quality of them. We can only reasonably quantify the former. Even favorites on this garbage mean nothing.

This took me about twenty minutes to make. You can see imperfections along her elbow and hair, and apparently her legs are about 1/3 the size of her entire body.

Stop while you can. Fetishes are sordid temptations, little weeds that grow in your conscious, and you'll be the one to feed them. They'll grow and take root in your idle thinking time, which is so crucial for an intelligent mind.

Hmmm, apparently you took me seriously perchance???
I'm not into porn or anything like that if that is what you are worried about. I don't really have any true fetishes as I've seen others have. I do love me some Godzilla though and I have no issues with the human form / body, nor am I a puritan or extremist in any way. The human body is as much a miraculous work of art as much as all else in this universe. But thanks for the concern in any case. ;)

Jennifer Meade, formerly a noble. Jen's mother died when she was young, and her family fell on hard times when her father was murdered in debtor's prison after spending everything to pay off the debts of her brother's gambling. Now she models giantess photos.

I think she should work with the general populous to restore her to normal size, and for the time being, use her great height and strength to help people as much as she can.

As for fetishes, I prefer well-drawn ones. I won't just go for any transformation or inflation sequence unless it's relatively good.
But I'm gonna fave this pic coz I think the girl is pretty. :meow:

I know this is an old picture but...

Its kinda something people are born with so its pretty hard to see the appeal of that crushing business unless your into that stuff.

Also theres like different aspects of fetishes ya know. Some giantess people dont like crushing and stuff. Just like how some inflation people like when their characters go POP with guts and blood and how some inflationists think its gross.

I thank answers.org for this knowledge.

And plz submit ART and not...um...opinions? It is deviantART after all.

Fetishes, like every other part of the human being, is caused by three aspects: genetics, environment, and self. There often is no explanation for why people have what fetishes. One of the few exceptions that come to mind is BDSM, which usually involves some security issues at some point in life, but even that isn't one hundred percent the case. Sometimes...people just like being tortured, or executing a torture. I, for example, enjoy several different fetishes that really I have no genuine reason for having. There's nothing in my life you can point it out and go, "There it is!" All I can say is that for years prior to puberty I had an odd interest in those things right from the get-go, and once I had a sex drive they turned into fetishes.

It's not that it's strange, and I've viewed other fetishes I have no interest in, or perhaps disgust me, with a thought of "It's a personal taste." Part of the issue is that most people in this world live in societies that either silence open discussion of sex entirely, such as religiously extreme countries, or find parts of it, such as anything beyond mainstream T&A, to be taboo. As a result there exists a feeling of tension and unease when approached with a sexual desire different than our own. It's gotten to the point that the DSM-IV (the DSM-V may not agree with this and thus it may be different, but I haven't gotten a chance to look) lists fetishes as a psychological disorder, although is only is to be treated if it interferes with the ability to live properly, like someone who enjoys inflation so much that they inflate themselves too much and rupture their intestines (high mortality rate with that and a small window of opportunity to save the person, I wouldn't advise doing that).

Now, as much as I’m saying fetishes ought to be approached with an open mind, rather than the typical human reaction of “Oh my God, I don’t understand this and it’s foreign to me…KILL IT WITH FIRE,” I don’t believe it should be a consuming factor. I am not saying we should start to live Brave New World, where sex is so typical that it is encouraged to be done frequently, publicly, and with many people. Once that happens the intimacy is gone. If you get a chance to psychologically analyze anyone with a particular sexual deviancy, you will find there is some level of feeling close or, if you will, as vague as this is and as much as I don’t want to use it, “special.” For example, one of my main fetishes is pregnancy. Well, I see that is an intimate combination of mind, body, and spirit between the man and the woman, both literally in the fact that there is a child growing from it, but more figuratively because it requires a particular closeness. The burning passion that comes from sexual energy, so often seen as evil, is only bad if it is permitted to debase one’s existence. What I mean is this: I follow meditative practices that attempt to find balance between physical and metaphysical, material and energy. Physical, chemical desire should not be feared, but it also should not be allowed to overtake the self. I enjoy fetishism so much because I can use it as a window to self-examination, the ultimate question of why. Why am I like this, why do think the way I do, why do I enjoy what I do?

I’m aware almost no one else does this, but I don’t mind, and I’m not saying everyone should do this. It is simply what I do.

Now that you’re all very confused, or just want me to shut the hell up, I am finished.

Unfortunately, no, I very few people in the intellectual community put them all together. And, truthfully, I can't blame them. You have geneticists (sic) you have spent their entire lives doing tiresome, repetitive, intricate work for decades that often yields little actual fruit, many of whom are responsible for what information we even have on the human genome, who subsequently will think the answer to everything exists in a series of adenine, thymine, guanine, and cytocine because they want their work to mean something. You have psychologists who, if they are more, shall I say, old school will say people need to choose for themselves, going with heavily Freudian ideas and embrace a time when psychology and philosophy were inseparable, and thus were most likely affected by the existentialists who insisted on free will and self determination, and if they are more current, even new, and especially if they focus on childhood, they will say that the background were someone grows up will control everything.

This is clearly not true, for each of the three, not in their entirety. How do you explain the failure, drop-out, drug addict child from a wealthy home where the money came from a two-physician family with strong discipline and an intellectual and moral upbringing? His genetics, from his parents, and his environment should say he would be successful. But, the child could simply be too damn lazy to do anything. Alternatively, what of the poor, homeless child of drug addict parents who ends up in Harvard (which has, in fact, happened). Ultimately, your life is what you make of it, but your genes will establish how easy or hard it will be to do something and your environment will largely shape how you respond to and view things on impulse.

It's the age old debate of why an artist creates. Do they create for the thrill of bringing their own vision to life, even if it's snubbed by the masses and only appreciated by a select few? Or do you create with the intention of having the world bow at your feet in praise, bringing to life only those images that will be both accepted and loved? Personally, I'd rather create what I love, and if someone else happens to like it, then that's pretty groovy.
